Finally all these days of aimless blogging has hit paydirt. Today when I logged on to update my blog at Blogger, after a month of hibernation, I found that they were offering free Gmail accounts to their "active" bloggers. Gmail(for anyone who doesn't know yet) is Google's much touted 1000 mb email service, the beta version of which was launched in late March. Saw dhempe's post about it here, you can learn more about it in his post. Hope they'll open doors to all and sundry once the beta testing is over. Meanwhile those who have Blogger accounts, if you want to try out Gmail, go and log into your Blogger acc., most probably you are one of their active users who is being tempted by this offer.
Now I am glad that I was unable get an LJ account when I started blogging as I had no friends who could lend me an active code or didn't have enough money to spare to become a paid member. This was at a time when LJ was still the exclusive country-club it used to be(before Dec 2003). This made me turn to Blogger which was/is free at the time. Glad that Google bought Blogger. And for all that Google has been, democratization of Gmail shouldn't be a long wait.
