George.W's Cat and My Hometown [02 Jul 2004|09:08am]
[ mood | giggly ]
[ music | Don Henley - Boys of the Summer ]

I come from a town(Trivandrum/Thiruvanathapuram,India) so hot blooded that it is on the fast track to become the mecca of all protesters and strikers from all over the world. There is nobody left there except these protesters and a handful(say a million) of people who still hang around to supply the necessary audience. The others including yours truly, have emigrated on S1B visas ie Strikers on Business visas, to supply the necessary protesting and striking power to other impoverished regions of the planet.

My homies(or hometowners) usually light up, (not matches, but effigies of world leaders - the eternal favorites) at the slightest whiff of an international provocation reaches their noses. Well I have to say we have a powerful sense of smell and some pretty strong winds! In the past, people who graced our bonfire of effigies include Reagen, Castro, Indira Gandhi, de Clerk, Stalin, Suharto, Annan, Bush Senior, Nixon etc etc...you say a name, we have burnt him/her. The latest in the list is none other than Dubya. And all because of a cat.

George W. had the nerve to name his cat, India!!! And you think we'd sit still, although this cat had been a part of the Bush family since the last 10 years? Well, that was because this protest was in queue and was waiting for its turn. We are busy people, what didya expect? Today on the 2nd day of July, in the year of the lord 2004, my homies avenged for the disgrace of the name India by burning an effigy of George W. at the main square in town. Amen.

The full news about the protest is here
and this is the biography of India
