Shopping at Costco is like hopping across the food baskets of the world. Black tiger prawns from Malaysia, guacamole from Mexico, rice from Thailand, Stolichnaya from Russia, Bratwurst from Germany, potatoes from Idaho, Panettone from Italy, cashew from India…the stash of real McCoys shipped right from their countries of origin is as huge as the warehouse itself. (As you might have already guessed I made my weekly trip to Costco yesterday, hence this post.) Life histories of these myriad produce/products interest me, maybe one of these days the Food Network will unwrap it for me. But for now I’ll stick to something I know – cashew from India.
