[info]dj_bennyb passed this on to me - the procastrinator par excellence. Since this tagging incident happened in the rarefied realms of Live Journal and not in Germany I took certain liberties w.r.t. time. My bad. Here goes..

The last book you bought The next book I want to buy: 'am not much of a book buyer, I rely on the public library to provide me with succulent reading material. I order books from Amazon twice or thrice a year . I heard this guy, Rana Dasgupta on NPR the other day, man, he was really cool, fabulous accent(not American, not British, something global) super intelligent(my knees go weak) and the guy lives in apna nai-dilli. Maybe I'd buy his book Tokyo Cancelled - 13 strangers stranded in an airport. Read a few pages of the book at Barnes and Nobles, looks promising, might be a good read for the global (confused) citizen.

Five Books that mean a lot to you in the last month: Five books that mean a lot to you in your entire life would require some time to think about, last month is more manageable.

1. Stiff: The Curious Life of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach- This book rocks, yeah its a bit gross and gory for the weak-hearted('am one of them, but I liked it). It's funny from the very first line which goes like, "The way I see it, being dead is not terribly far off from being on a cruise ship. Most of your time is spent lying on your back"

2. The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger - Interesting, Witty, chick-book and more adjectives in that line could be added.

3. The Real Eve: Modern Man's Journey Out of Africa by Stephen Oppenheimer - Another facts-filled-book, and after everything mtDNA(from the mother)has done to shine light on the path of our evolution and our migrations to different parts of the world, it is high time people started taking on their mother's surname, in the long run this practice might even aid the scientists of the future. Infinitely informative and interesting.

4. The Secret History by Donna Tartt - The essential fast paced nail-biting respite you need when the languid research based non-fiction gets too slow. The novel starts slow, I almost gave up after the first chapters, but then it gets heated up and you are in for a ride.

5. Live Journal : Well, it reads better than a book by a single author and I feel like I share something more with you, the authors at Live Journal than with some unknown author whose face's printed on the jacket cover.

Tag five people you want to answer this: If you like books, I invite you to post your answers to this meme as comments to this post.Make changes to this meme as you want. (There is a selfish motive too - I will use your book list as my reading suggestions for the future.)
