Denali National Park, Alaska
An evening in late May 2005, a couple hours before midnight: Saw the most perfect vibgyor semi-circle of my life. The camcorder shot is a poor copy of the real, but I'll keep it as a record, a record of a memorable moment, a precious transience fleetingly caught on frame.

A poorly exposed rainbow, was trying to be unnecessarily artistic. Huh, some hopes!

A poorly 'merged' rainbow, looks like it hiccuped. Again, my bad

Time is the trickster. As I get older I catch myself frequently nurturing this chimera of inventing a time freezer for our bodies and souls, I guess everyone has such thoughts once in a while. The two tour buses in the picture below are one and the same. The picture was stitched together from two shots made within seconds of each other. Frozen in time and moved forward in space.

Once again the green tongues of summer leap up from the tundra. Fickle streams of water thread their way through prismatic gravel beds. Puny human figures against the vast natural backdrop makes me realize once again, that we are just passing through and once gone from the scene, there will be no marks(except of course for one hole in the sky.)

Kinda explains why I saw more Europeans per sq.m in the park than Alaskans or people from lower 48 ;-)

Nice pictures. Did you stitch up all these photos or does your camera have a fancy panorama setting???

I so want to go to Alaska and visit Denali NP. Hope it happens sooner than later.

I stitched up these photos with photoshop.

Some of my friends saw people who has come to visit Denali straight from India from places like Allahabad and the like! They were part of tour groups.

yeah that was how it actually looked, but it is not perfectly fitted, but gives you an idea how it was like. the first pic was deliberately underexposed.

the rainbow was magnificient, all I could do was to spoil it a bit by underexposing or imperfect merging haha.

Yep 'am kinda taking a break, just skimmed atop friends' entries, didn't make any comments - all because of this summer here. It is hard to sit glued to the computer when you've glorious weather outside which has an extremely short life :-)
